and I was just about to head back with the Z. I cannot even begin to express my disgust for those completely unreasonable traffic cops and the way they think they're "protecting" the automotive and motorcycle enthusiasts who frequent that particular 11-mile stretch of beautiful, curvy road. It's already obvious that they heydays of "street racing" are totally over, but now just the freedom of being able to enjoy somewhat spirited driving (or riding) on such a unique stretch of road is slowly being suffocated by the cops who so loosely interpret the applicable traffic statutes and use their narrow-minded discretion to simply harass the enthusiasts who really mean no harm. It's a battle that enthusiasts aren't likely to win. And it isn't just on the Tail of the Dragon. Being able to actually enjoy the performance vehicle of choice on the street is a thing of the past. Try to fight the system as much as you want, but it's only going to get worse.
